Professor Al-Shaibi signs a memorandum of understanding with Surabaya Academy of Pharmacy in Indonesia

In an extension of extending bridges of cooperation with Indonesian universities and scientific and research academies, Professor Mohammed Al-Shaibi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Gulf of Aden University, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Surabaya Academy of Pharmacy in Indonesia. The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance joint international cooperation and bilateral relations, develop academic programs and special projects related to scientific research and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and benefit from the enormous expertise and capabilities in the field of training and developing and improving the skills of students and graduates and providing them with professional practical experience and qualifying them for the labor market and preparing them to participate in all areas of pharmaceutical work efficiently and competently to advance the health system and achieve sustainable development.

Professor Al-Shaibi stressed during the meeting that the International Gulf of Aden University seeks to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with Indonesian universities and academies, with the aim of improving the educational and research system and developing bilateral relations that will contribute significantly to increasing its competitive capabilities at the regional and international levels.

During his tour, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gulf of Aden International University was briefed on the achievements of the Surabaya Academy of Pharmacy since its inception and its distinguished role in scientific research, pharmaceutical manufacturing and production of more than two hundred pharmaceutical products.

The Surabaya Academy of Pharmacy

or known as AKFAR Surabaya is the only higher education institution for pharmacy with a three-year bachelor’s and diploma system in Surabaya affiliated with the Surabaya Pharmaceutical Corporation. The Surabaya Academy of Pharmacy was officially established on December 31, 2010 as a higher education institution. The Surabaya Academy of Pharmacy aims in the teaching and learning process to produce outstanding students, and prepare qualified cadres; to contribute to supporting and developing pharmaceutical industries, and to contribute to spreading awareness of the latest pharmaceutical practices, which contributes to linking universities and research institutions with the drug market, and enabling students to obtain distinguished professional training

in the fields of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
