
Students of the Department of Oral and Dental Surgery at the International Gulf of Aden University make a field visit to the Hemodialysis Center in Al Dhale’e
Within the framework of extracurricular student activities implemented by students of the International Gulf of Aden University, the Department of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, Level One, accompanied by faculty member Professor Kamel Abdul Qader Al-Tahami, and in coordination with the university presidency, organized a field visit to the Hemodialysis Center in Al-Dhale’e today, Thursday, December 28, 2023 AD.
They were received by a number of administrative, medical and technical cadres at the center, headed by the director of the center, Professor Khaled Ahmed Obaidi, Secretary General of the Tarahum Foundation, Professor Tawfiq Al-Zaji, the financial officer of the center, Dr. Ali Saeed Ali, Engineer Muhammad Mohsen Abdullah and a number of center employees.
The center’s managers provided the students with a brief overview of the stages of the center’s establishment and the causes of kidney failure. They also listened to a detailed explanation by the center’s managers about how the water purification station works and the stages that the purification process goes through.
And about the services provided by the center to kidney failure patients, as well as the procedures followed, and learning about the types of dialysis, the normal functions of the kidney, and the stages of the dialysis process for patients with kidney failure or insufficiency, and the types of medications given to dialysis patients before, during and after the dialysis process, and the most important preventive tips and instructions on how a person can maintain his health and the health of his kidneys.
This visit provided the opportunity for the students to talk to patients and specialists and to closely view the symptoms and treatments of kidney diseases and the mechanism of dialysis.
At the end of the visit, the students of the Department of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery distributed some symbolic gifts to the patients of the dialysis center. The director of the center, doctors and patients expressed their happiness with this visit, and the students gave a speech of thanks delivered by the student Suhaila Abdul Ghani, in which they thanked the center’s management, employees and doctors for the good reception and the efforts they provide to the patients
