The Department of Information Technology is one of the five departments in the College of Administrative Sciences, Humanities and Technology and is recognized by the ACM as one of the basic specializations in computer science.
The Department of Information Technology (IT) is interested in studying many fields related to user needs in various computing technology activities. The department offers a bachelor’s program in information technology. The department periodically reviews the content and plans of the program and works with partners in various sectors to update the programs to suit the needs of the labor market. The department’s programs are designed in light of the latest trends in information technology that provide better employment opportunities. At the same time. The development of the program’s study plan focuses on engaging in the fields of cloud computing and applied data science, which provide students with up-to-date knowledge in these rapidly growing fields. Moreover, the IT program supports the local and regional community with well-educated and qualified students by providing them with theoretical and practical knowledge in various fields of information technology, especially in information technology management, programming, databases, web application development, and software engineering. According to international standards, and training them on the latest information technologies that meet the requirements of the local and foreign labor market.

The Information Technology Department seeks to be a distinguished model for education in both Arabic and English through effective partnership with a number of prestigious international universities to provide programs that contribute to the strategic development of Yemen by preparing specialized human cadres through providing distinguished educational services to its male and female students, with a focus on developing the contents of curricula and activating e-learning to benefit from the capabilities of relevant universities and benefit from experienced and specialized people in an effort to build modern and distinguished educational programs that enhance the role of the student and care about his participation and encourage him to highlight his talents, abilities and various skills. The department also seeks to attract a full-time teaching and administrative staff of qualified and experienced people from within Yemen and from other universities who are able to transfer knowledge and provide students with basic skills using the latest teaching methods. The department also seeks to provide the appropriate infrastructure for the educational process from various laboratories and educational tools as well as books, references and specialized periodicals in the field of information technology in addition to working on continuous evaluation and development, and developing appropriate treatments and solutions for any problems or shortcomings that hinder the progress of the educational process.
